About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team for the 2024 school year. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational journey of our youngest students, providing them with a strong foundation in academic, social, and motor skills. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver lesson plans that align with state and district curriculum guidelines, incorporating a range of teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and learning, and fosters a sense of community and belonging among students, parents, and staff Assess student progress, identify areas of strength and weakness, and develop targeted interventions to support student learning and development Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and involving them in the educational process Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives, share best practices, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our educational programs Participate in professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and technologies in early childhood education Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with a strong foundation in child development, curriculum design, and instructional strategies A valid New Mexico teaching license, with a specialization in Preschool or Early Childhood Education At least one year of experience teaching in a Preschool or Early Childhood setting, with a proven track record of success in promoting student learning and development Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues A commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to learn and grow as an educator Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: A Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with advanced training in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and educational leadership Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with special needs, English language learners, and students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds Knowledge of Native American cultures and traditions, with a commitment to incorporating culturally responsive practices into the classroom Experience with technology integration, including the use of educational software, apps, and digital tools to support student learning Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong knowledge of early childhood development, including human growth and development, and special education Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a commitment to collaboration and mutual support Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Gallup McKinley County Schools, we are committed to supporting the ongoing growth and development of our teachers.
