**Experienced 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist – Mental Health Support and Crisis Intervention**

You will be responsible for handling incoming chat and text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988, and providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. Our team is built on a trauma-informed approach, recognizing the importance of understanding, recognizing, and responding to those affected by trauma to strengthen resilience for our clients, staff, and community. **Job Description** As a 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist, you will be responsible for: * Providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments * Answering crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs * Conducting follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide * Meeting the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation * Actively participating in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings * Assisting in administrative tasks as needed **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required; or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist * Six months to one year of related crisis experience is required * Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods * Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette * Knowledge of suicide assessments and skill in providing crisis intervention **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working in a crisis hotline or mental health setting * Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention * Certification in crisis intervention or mental health first aid **Skills and Competencies** * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively * Knowledge of mental health resources and community services * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we believe in investing in our employees and providing opportunities for growth and development.
