Equity Research Associate, Consumer

Job Description: The Retail team at BofA Research is responsible for covering 32 listed companies across apparel and footwear brands and retailers. In addition to coverage of publicly traded companies, the team vets private companies for potential IPOs. The candidate for the position should be intellectually curious and have a deep desire to learn. The candidate should also possess strong verbal communication and writing skills. Further, the candidate should possess experience with company modeling and have a passion for following the stock market. Responsibilities: ? Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work ? Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratch ? Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment ? Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes ? Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies ? Participate and contribute to client meetings and events ? Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity ? Seek out new, unusual sources of information ? Interact regularly with clients Qualifications: ? Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience ? Min 3 years of experience in equity research, buy side or investment banking ? Strong writing and modeling skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel ? Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment. ? Must be self-motivated and organized ? Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal ? Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research ? Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics ? Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task ? Discretionary incentive eligible This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
