About the Entry Level Project Engineer Rotation Program We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for recent college graduates or upcoming graduates in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering to join our Entry Level Project Engineer Rotation Program. This 24-27 month program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of our business, rotating through three different locations across the United States, and gaining hands-on experience in Project Management, Estimating, and Manufacturing. Program Overview As a participant in our rotation program, you will have the opportunity to work with our best mentors, develop individualized growth plans, and receive competitive pay and housing assistance. You will also be part of the Colas Explore program, which provides additional development opportunities, networking with peers, and discussions with company executives. The program includes two in-person trips to visit job and manufacturing sites at different locations across the USA. Key Responsibilities During the program, you will be responsible for: Assisting Project Engineers and Project Managers in managing various aspects of construction projects, including tracking quantities, contacting vendors and subcontractors, and submittals Learning and utilizing programs such as HeavyJob and HeavyBid to assist with project management and estimating Working closely with managers and superintendents in our manufacturing areas, including asphalt, concrete, aggregate, emulsions, or other production processes Contributing to our efforts to have clean and organized plants and shops for safety and efficiency purposes Learning and contributing to efforts to reduce emissions and BTU use as we achieve our corporate reduction efforts Performing bid takeoffs, assisting with calculations, and coordinating with project managers and superintendents to ensure bidding is consistent with construction realities Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should: Be a recent college graduate or upcoming graduate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Have a high degree of drive and a willingness to learn Be geographically mobile during the program, with the ability to select a location after the program Have outstanding communication skills and a team mindset to help your work groups succeed Be safety-oriented and willing to learn from subject matter experts as skills and knowledge are developed Have a spirit of adventure and a positive attitude Be willing to relocate to a different location every 8 months as part of the program (3 moves in total) Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a significant advantage.
