Entry Level Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer - Summer 2026 (Data Centers)

They are seeking an Entry-Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to work on projects related to industrial and commercial facilities, where the engineer will be responsible for technical quality and schedule of engineering tasks, as well as collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to design control systems. Responsibilities You'll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule You’ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll help design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world-class solutions for new facilities Your responsibilities will include developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, and documenting and modeling design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards You will support them in producing control system designs for a variety of processes, and develop options and optimizations for all aspects of the process control, instrumentation, and automation Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering Previous relevant internship experience EIT or ability to obtain prior to hire Working knowledge of Revit software preferred Prior experience with DDC and PLC based control systems Experience with Data Center design or operations Benefits Medical Dental Vision Basic life insurance 401(k) plan The ability to purchase company stock at a discount Deferred compensation plan Executive Deferral Plan Unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees Seven paid holidays One floating holiday Caregiver leave Merit increases Performance discretionary bonus Stock Company Overview Jacobs leads the global professional services sector delivering solutions for a more connected, sustainable world.
