Job Description Job title: Desktop Support Specialist | Temporary Company: Emory Healthcare Job description: Description JOB DESCRIPTION: • Maintains technologies that support the teaching and learning mission of the University. Deploys technology hardware and/or software applications via in-person and virtual assistance for students, faculty, staff and selected guests. • Supports and utilizes monitoring tools to troubleshoot incidents and enhance the availability of services. • Participates in the development and assessment of academic technologies and supports learning-based technologies in multiple formats. • Performs equipment refreshes and hardware installations; troubleshoots to identify issues and initiate fixes and resolutions. • Supports campus network access to support computers and mobile devices; coordinates with vendors and contractors to meet customer needs for out-sourced technology support. Maintains any required auxiliary equipment pools to supplement and/or replace deployed equipment and technologies. • Performs testing, inspection and monitoring to assure established expectations are met. Conducts orientations and training sessions to build user skills; assists UTS and Emory staff to support back-to-school efforts and related events. • Researches new products to remain current with market trends and recent technology requirements, and provides product recommendations to ensure effective operability and customer satisfaction. • Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * A bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with IT, Instructional Technology, A/V Event Support Services, Video Technologies, or other related fields is preferred. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
