Job Summary We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Customs Trade Agent. This role is perfect for those looking to start or transition into a new career, as no prior experience is required. As a Customs Trade Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth importation of goods, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service, responding to client inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Accurately classify merchandise for customs clearance using databases, SOPs, tariff books, and other resources. Perform data entry and processing of various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, including handling restricted PGA's (Participating Government Agencies). Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements. Comply with all international importing regulations and guidelines. Collaborate with internal staff and departments to deliver a high level of service to clients. Process office freight forwarder shipments and ensure all administrative and operational policies are followed. Perform other or extra obligations as assigned by management. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Data entry/console experience. Proficiency in MS Office and other office software, as well as experience with office equipment (telephone, fax, scanner, printer). Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. The ability to handle a high volume of time-sensitive work with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Solid scientific/critical thinking abilities. The role will be hybrid, with some work-from-home opportunities and some in-office work, subject to company policy.
