JOB DESCRIPTION: Director of Public Policy, One Bread Foundation, Inc. - responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and advocacy of public policy initiatives. ROLE: Director of Public Policy (VOLUNTEER ROLE) LOCATION: REMOTE REPORT TO: CEO Responsibilities: POLICY DEVELOPMENT • Lead the development and formulation of public policy strategies and initiatives aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. • Conduct research, analysis, and monitoring legislative and regulatory developments at local, national, and international levels. • Government Relations: • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and relevant stakeholders. • Advocate for the organization's interests by engaging in the legislative process, lobbying efforts, and public consultations. • Stakeholder Engagement: • Collaborate with industry associations, NGOs, advocacy groups, and other partners to advance common policy objectives. • Represent the organization in public forums, conferences, and media engagements to promote policy positions and influence public opinion. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Compliance and Risk Management: • Ensure the organization's activities and policies comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. • Assess potential risks related to public policy changes and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. • Communication and Advocacy: • Develop compelling advocacy materials, position papers, and presentations to communicate policy positions effectively. • Lead public relations campaigns, media outreach, and social media engagements to raise awareness and support for policy initiatives. • Strategic Planning: • Develop long-term public policy goals and objectives in alignment with the organization's mission and values. • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management on policy matters impacting the organization's operations and reputation. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in public policy, Political Science, Law, Public Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred). • Extensive experience in public policy development, government relations, advocacy, and related roles. • Strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes, political landscape, and public affairs. • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and influence key decision-makers. The Director of Public Policy plays a vital role in shaping our Foundation’s interactions with the government, society, and stakeholders to achieve strategic policy objectives and promote responsible corporate citizenship. PLEASE NOTE: This is a Non-Compensated Position, and it also carries with it the need for a Monthly Contribution (Tax Deductible) of $175/Monthly (2025) and $200/Monthly (2026) minimum.
