DevSecOps Engineer- AWS/Kubernetes/Docker/Security Engineering/Ansible

DevSecOps Engineer The DevSecOps team designs and delivers security-first infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-prem environments. This role supports a fast-evolving AWS security platform, with a strong focus on automating infrastructure and security controls, eliminating manual processes, and continuously adopting modern tooling and cloud capabilities. The company is located in Washington D.C. the position will remain 100% remote, the candidate just needs to work EST hours. What You Will Be Doing: • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support production systems • Partner with application teams as a security subject-matter expert, integrating security tooling into existing and new services • Advise on architecture and design decisions to ensure alignment with security best practices • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and Terraform • Develop reusable automation with Ansible • Create automation to harden AMIs and container images • Design, write, and review Kubernetes network and service mesh policies to enforce intra-cluster security boundaries • Contribute to security tooling and platform development to shift security controls left into arenaflex/CD pipelines • Build and extend arenaflex/CD pipelines using Jenkins and CircleCI • Research and evaluate new cloud services and security capabilities across major cloud platforms • Produce example code, documentation, and best-practice guidance to support application and security teams Required Skilled & Experience: • 5+ years of overall IT experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or 3 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree • 4+ years in DevOps or DevSecOps roles, working closely with application or infrastructure teams • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible • 4+ years of cloud and security engineering experience, preferably in AWS, building secure, scalable systems • Experience securing and operating cloud services including Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud networking, and managed services • 2+ years of Kubernetes experience, including deployment strategies, workload and control plane hardening, and cluster observability and alerting • 2+ years working in containerized environments • 2+ years presenting technical solutions, coordinating cross-team dependencies, and influencing engineering decisions • 2+ years of security engineering experience, including architecture reviews, implementation of security controls, and collaboration with centralized security teams Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
