Under direct supervision of the Data Center Operations Senior Manager, the Data Center Engineer will be responsible for rack and cable activities in a Data Center environment. Applicant must have the ability to work with customers in order to troubleshoot server hardware, cabling, and network issues within the various Data Center environments. An Engineer must have 2-3 years' experience in installation and maintenance of Data Center systems as well as layer 2 network troubleshooting experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Installation and configuration of both copper & fiber Ethernet Local Area Networks Knowledge of IP sub-netting and basic networking Installation of network & server infrastructure into datacenter racks Decommissioning of hardware, hardware troubleshooting, and hardware repairs Provide escort for onsite visitors regarding hardware failures Provide escort for data center walk throughs Participate in required data center audits Experience: Associates degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience 2+ years' IT or Data Center Operations experience BICSI Technician certification or equivalent work experience desired Comp TIA A+ or Network+ certification or equivalent work experience Ability to lift 50 LBS Word processing / data entry skills Systems and/or Network Support skills This is a shift position: Week 1 - Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat with working hours of 11PM-11AM Week 2 - Thurs, Fri, Sat with working hours of 11PM-11AM Hours subject to change This job is based in our New Castle, Delaware location and fully on site.
