Data Analyst - Property Development
About the position The Property Data Analyst role at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” and “Company”) is responsible for managing and reporting Property Development data analytics within the Property Management, Procurement, and Maintenance departments. The Property Data Analyst role develops, implements, and improves the quality of data and the methods which it is reported on. The role works closely with the Company's Real Estate, Project Management, Management Information Systems (“MIS”), and Finance divisions to support the financial, operational, and administrative functions of the Property Development department. Responsibilities • Analyze, define, and prioritize business requirements and functional or operational specifications for the Property Development department. • Support the implementation of data analytics system applications and their integration with other business software where necessary. • Partner with the MIS department to manage, maintain, and develop the test environment of the Integrated Workplace Management System (“IWMS”) to ensure accurate and effective implementation of application requirements. • Manage reporting and data dashboard platforms in accordance with scheduled reporting needs. • Develop and distribute reporting to assist in the management of the IWMS and other systems. • Evaluate manual and automated property management and procurement processes, systems, and procedures for workflow efficiency and conformity with regulatory requirements. • Identify opportunities for improvements by gathering information on current property management and procurement processes, organizational structure, and computer technology and offer recommendations to support the needs of the Property Development department. • Provide ongoing support to users for reporting and analysis, and resolve issues and problems related to the IWMS systems and associated interfaces and integrations. • Prepare specifications and documentation, such as user manuals and standard operating policies and procedures. • Assist in preparing support for internal and external audits. • Perform special projects and duties at the direction of the Senior Director of Property Management and Construction. • Maintain awareness of internal and external controls and make recommendations for any data deficiencies and improvements. • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. • Manage the analysis of utility data and perform anomaly detection analysis to ensure billing accuracy and identify consumption irregularities. • Collaborate with the Construction and Special Projects teams to extract and analyze data from OSJL's construction management software, and generate detailed reports at the direction of department leadership. • Assist the fixture team in inventory management tracking for new stores and special projects. Requirements • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in business administration or data science. • Proven experience and technical acumen in data analytics, procurement, supply chain, IWMS, and software applications is required. • 1 or more years of business knowledge of property management, procurement, and facilities and retail maintenance is preferred. • Practical experience utilizing an IWMS for a property owner or property management company. • Experience with MS Excel, SQL, and other related computer database or reporting tools. • Proficient in the Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets). • Experience with business intelligence systems and a proven ability to analyze large sets of data. • Skilled in planning, organizing, and prioritizing work with an ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives and build collaborative teams.
