Cybersecurity Associate Internship

Join GDIT’s Summer 2026 Cybersecurity Associate Internship to support and secure complex government and defense projects in a collaborative, innovative environment. Your Role Key responsibilities include: • Work side-by-side with GDIT professionals delivering work for clients. • Collaborate with a team of peers to research and propose solutions to current business challenges. • Participate in a mentoring circle led by an early career champion. • Interact with GDIT leaders and participate in professional development activities. • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems across GDIT or client organizations. • Work with analysts to understand business processes and promote data integrity. • Develop consulting skills, gather and research data, develop analysis, and contribute to deliverables. About You The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: • Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree program in computer science, IT, engineering, or other STEM field at a U.S.-based college or university. • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Teams). • Demonstrated decision-making skills and experience working in a collaborative team environment. • Nimble mindset with intellectual curiosity and ability to solve complex problems related to rapidly changing technology. • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions. • Knowledge or interest in cybersecurity principles, methods, and tools for evaluating information systems security. • Basic knowledge of engineering, information systems, hardware, software, and data manipulation of Indicators of Compromise (IOC’s). • Basic understanding of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Management (scanning and patching), and Information Assurance. • Preferred: Pursuing cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, Information Assurance, or Certified Ethical Hacker. • No clearance required; U.S. citizenship not required; sponsorship not available.
