ControllerPosition Overview The Controller will lead the buildout and ongoing management of a premium bookkeeping and accounting operation serving high net worth entrepreneurs with complex, multi entity financial structures. This role requires deep technical accounting expertise, strong operational leadership, and the ability to design scalable systems from the ground up. The Controller will establish accounting standards, create processes and templates, oversee bookkeeping staff, and serve as the primary financial expert for a sophisticated client base. This is a hands on, high impact role with significant autonomy and responsibility for shaping the financial infrastructure of a rapidly growing practice. Key Responsibilities • Manage the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including cash and accrual based reporting • Build the accounting infrastructure from scratch, including chart of accounts templates, quality control processes, and scalable workflows • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support client needs and internal growth targets • Conduct financial analysis to support decision making, strategic planning, and multi entity financial oversight • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, IRS rules, and internal policies across diverse client structures • Monitor and manage risks associated with financial operations, reporting accuracy, and multi entity bookkeeping • Supervise and review the work of outsourced bookkeeping teams, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to quality standards • Coordinate tax preparation activities and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations • Lead audit support processes and implement improvements based on audit findings • Develop and maintain financial models to support investment tracking, entity level reporting, and family office style financial management • Serve as the primary accounting contact for clients, providing guidance on complex transactions, multi entity structures, and bookkeeping best practices • Establish client communication protocols and service standards to ensure a premium client experience Qualifications • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required • 5+ years of experience in financial management, controllership, or multi client accounting roles • Strong technical accounting expertise, including deep understanding of debits and credits, cash vs accrual accounting, and GAAP compliance • Experience managing books for multiple clients or entities; public accounting or bookkeeping firm background strongly preferred • Proven ability to build systems, processes, templates, and scalable accounting infrastructure • Experience supervising accounting or bookkeeping staff, including outsourced teams • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management • Familiarity with multi entity structures such as LLCs, partnerships, trusts, and real estate holdings • Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to work directly with high net worth entrepreneurs • Proficiency with accounting software, cloud based platforms, and financial modeling tools Benefits • Highly Competitive Compensation - Base $120-180k • Comprehensive health insurance and competitive benefits package • 401(k) with employer matching • ESOP equity (at no cost to you) • Flexible PTO policy • Fully remote work • Quarterly team retreats in Scottsdale, AZ (all expenses paid) Email Your Resume In Word To [email protected] Looking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
