Responsibilities Assist senior bankers in managing client relationships and identifying cross-sell opportunities across SMBC’s product suite Prepare pitches, marketing materials, and strategic financing ideas across the capital structure Build and maintain complex financial models, perform valuation analyses, and interpret financial statements Track industry trends, gather competitive intelligence, and contribute to sector-specific research for client presentations Coordinate due diligence, documentation, and internal approval processes for lending and capital markets transactions Work closely with product partners (Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Lending Management) to deliver integrated solutions Skills Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with proficiency in valuation techniques Excellent communication skills—able to articulate ideas clearly in writing and verbally High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Solid understanding of accounting principles and ability to interpret financial statements Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to new processes Education: BA/BS degree required Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Licensing: FINRA Series SIE, 79, and 63 required (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe) Benefits Annual discretionary incentive award Competitive portfolio of benefits Company Overview SMBC Group is a top-tier global financial group.
