Construction Industry Advisor (PM / Superintendent / VDC Background)
I work in business development for construction technology (Trimble field layout, robotic total stations, 3D scanning, jobsite tech) and I’m looking for an experienced construction professional to act as an industry advisor. This is not a sales role and not a consulting deck project. I’m seeking someone with real, hands-on construction experience (Project Manager, Superintendent, VDC/BIM, Field Engineer, or similar) who can help align my outreach and follow-up with how construction teams actually operate in the field. What I Need Help With How GC and subcontractor buying decisions are made for: Robotic total stations (layout) 3D scanners (modeling and verification) HP SitePrint and similar layout tools What follow-up cadence is normal vs. annoying in construction How field crews perceive new technology and workflow changes When timing is wrong and opportunities should be left alone Translating Trimble-style solutions into jobsite language, especially against competitors like Hilti, Leica, and Topcon (layout, scanning, surveying) The goal is to ground my sales approach in construction reality, not SaaS theory. Engagement Details Advisory / coaching only (no execution) 1–2 calls per week (30–45 minutes) Review real opportunities and scenarios Short-term to start, with potential to continue Required Experience 5+ years in construction Field- or project-based role (PM, Superintendent, VDC, etc.) Strong understanding of jobsite workflows and trade coordination Nice to Have Experience with Trimble, Hilti, Leica, Topcon, or similar technology GC or self-performing subcontractor background Screening Question (Required) Please answer: How do GC or subcontractor teams typically decide to adopt new field technology, and what most commonly delays that decision?
