We were founded to give students what we wish we had—affordable, high-touch guidance from people who truly “get it” because they’ve recently been through the process themselves. Coaches are independent contractors. Our Mission At College Contact, we believe every student deserves access to quality, relatable guidance—no matter their background or budget. Our goals are to: • Democratize access to higher education and career resources for all students. • Give back, replacing expensive private advising with relatable, affordable mentorship. • Help students make informed, personalized decisions—whether that’s college, a trade, the military, or another pathway. • Equip students to earn the most scholarships and financial aid possible or choose a high-ROI career path that fits their skills and passions. About the Role As a College & Career Coach, you’ll be part of an elite network of undergraduates selected for their leadership, empathy, and expertise. You’ll guide high school students through the college admissions process, career exploration, and future planning. Your journey will look like this: • Professional Development (First Few Weeks): Self-paced course on our advising process, methodology, and platform tools. • Onboarding: Set up your profile (o students can book 1:1 virtual coaching sessions and message you for help) and attend a live orientation call. • Active Coaching: Meet with students, communicate with parents and counselors, and track student progress in our dashboard. • Ongoing Development: Stay updated on new resources and trends in college, career, military, and trade school preparation. Optional Opportunities: • Host or participate in virtual workshops (earn bonuses) • Specialize in niche topics like financial aid, career readiness, or essay writing Responsibilities • Maintain at least 5 hours of open availability per week for student meetings • Respond to messages from students or parents within 24 hours • Report student progress, fill out surveys, and keep accurate records in our system • Participate in continuous learning and training sessions Compensation • $200/semester base pay (guaranteed) + a tiered payment system based on meetings completed out of open availability, earn $35/hour for meetings with individual families • Additional bonuses for hosting or participating in workshops, referring new coaches to the network, and interning with our internal team ($20/hour) • Opportunity for promotion to Lead Coach (train and mentor new coaches) Perks • Join the top 1% of coaches at your university • Access to discounted grad school prep (GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, etc.) as available • Exclusive job and internship opportunities from top companies as requested • Build your resume with meaningful, high-impact experience Qualifications • Current undergraduate student at a 2-year or 4-year institution, graduating no sooner than 2027— first-year students are eligible after their first semester • Minimum 3.4 GPA • Strong communicator with excellent speaking and writing skills • Creative thinker with a passion for helping others • Flexible schedule (5 open hours/week) • Positive, self-starting, and trustworthy • No criminal record Bonus points if you: • Are a first-generation • Speak another language • Come from a rural community • Identify as a person of color • Are an international or transfer student • Are a D1-D3 student athlete Application Process Our selection process is highly competitive — we typically accept only the top 1% of applicants at each university. Here’s how it works: • Submit an Application: Share your basic information, tell us why you want to be a coach, and include a creative writing sample. • Complete a Virtual Coaching Case Study: Show us how you’d guide a student through a real advising scenario. • Interview: Meet with our recruiting team or founders. • Training & Onboarding: Complete and pass our virtual training to officially join the network. Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t accepted right away. We keep our standards high to protect the quality of our coaching network, but we always encourage you to reapply or request feedback to improve your application. Potential coaches may reapply up to 2x per year.
