College Admissions Counselor – Guidance & Consulting Program
About Us I’m Shinwoo, a young college student building something real. Our mission at INSPIRATE Consulting is to help students and families navigate the college admissions process with honesty, care, and excellence. We don’t chase client numbers or boast acceptance rates — we focus on growth, clarity, and long-term success. Every family we work with deserves genuine guidance, not a cookie-cutter process. That’s what sets us apart. About the Guidance & Consulting Program The Guidance & Consulting Program is our full-scope mentorship track for high school students preparing to apply to college. Unlike the Launchpad Program, which builds early structure and self-discovery, this program focuses on the core admissions journey — from college list building and essay writing to extracurricular planning and application strategy. As a Counselor, you’ll serve as both a mentor and strategist — helping students turn their stories, achievements, and passions into a compelling, authentic application narrative. Responsibilities • Conduct 1:1 counseling sessions with high school students (Grades 10–12). • Guide students through the full admissions cycle — from self-assessment to final submission. • Help students brainstorm, develop, and refine essays (personal statements, supplements, short responses). • Collaborate on extracurricular strategy, identifying leadership paths and project ideas tailored to each student. • Advise families on application timelines, testing strategy, and recommender selection. • Track session notes, progress, and deliverables within our internal system. • Work closely with other INSPIRATE team members to ensure a unified, high-quality experience for every student. What We’re Looking For • At least 3 years of experience in college counseling, education, or youth mentorship. • Deep understanding of the U.S. college admissions process (essays, extracurriculars, testing, and timelines). • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to connect naturally with both students and parents. • High energy and enthusiasm — you set the tone for a positive, motivating experience. • Collaborative mindset — open to teamwork, feedback, and continuous improvement. • A genuine passion for helping students grow into confident, self-driven applicants. Compensation and Growth • Starting rate: $35/hour • After 1 year: $37/hour • After 2 years: $40/hour • Path for career growth into senior counseling or leadership roles for those showing strong performance and initiative. We value reliability, empathy, and consistency — not just hours logged. Why Join Us At INSPIRATE, we’re building more than a consulting company — we’re building a community of mentors who believe in real student transformation. Here, you’ll find: • A structured yet collaborative environment where your ideas matter. • The opportunity to make real impact on students’ lives and academic futures. • A team that believes in care, accountability, and growth — for both our students and our counselors. If you’re ready to guide students with both expertise and heart, we’d love to hear from you. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with selected candidates contacted by November 5th.
