Certified Teacher; Remote
Position: New York Certified Teacher (Remote) Location: New York Overview New York Certified Math, French, or Spanish Teacher (Remote) A+ Virtual Learning is seeking experienced and passionate teachers for the K-12 certifications area. NY State-certified Math and Language teachers are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a contract position for virtual teaching with availability Monday–Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm ET. Role Description: The teacher will plan and deliver engaging online live lessons, support students to achieve their IEP goals, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Responsibilities • Instructional Delivery: Develop and deliver interactive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards; teach synchronously or asynchronously using virtual platforms; modify instruction for students with SEND; provide one-on-one or small group sessions as needed. • Student Engagement: Foster a positive online learning environment; engage students through virtual tools and resources; track participation to ensure active involvement. • Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments; use data to refine teaching strategies and materials; provide constructive feedback to students and parents. • Classroom Management: Maintain online classroom discipline; set expectations for online behavior; utilize educational technology to enhance learning; troubleshoot basic technology issues. • Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders; collaborate with educators and specialists to support student learning. • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning; participate in meetings and trainings; contribute to professional learning communities; maintain 12 hours of professional learning annually. Qualifications • Valid New York teaching certification is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Education; Master’s degree preferred. • 1–3 years of teaching experience. • Ability to submit background check; professional workspace with computer and high-speed internet; headset recommended. • Successful completion of initial onboarding training; proficiency with virtual learning platforms; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; knowledge of differentiated instruction. • Ability to engage students virtually; understanding of curriculum and standards; ability to analyze student data for instructional planning; excellent time management; remote work from home or virtual teaching space. • Standard school hours with additional time for planning, grading, and communication; may require flexible scheduling for different time zones.
