Role Description NJREAG is seeking a Certified General Appraiser for a 1099 contract partnership. This is a field-based inspection role with remote report writing. While our headquarters is in Edison, NJ, this position offers significant autonomy and flexible scheduling. Responsibilities include: • Conducting property inspections throughout New Jersey • Producing USPAP-compliant, litigation-ready appraisal reports • Handling complex residential and commercial valuation assignments • Collaborating with our internal team to meet deadlines and maintain NJREAG’s quality standards This role is ideal for an experienced appraiser who values independence but operates at a professional, high-accountability level. Qualifications • Licensure: Active Certified General Appraiser license in New Jersey (required) • USPAP Expertise: Strong working knowledge of USPAP and NJ-specific appraisal regulations • Valuation Skillset: Proven experience with commercial and complex residential properties • Court-Ready Experience: Background producing reports used in legal, financial, or contested settings • Technology: Proficiency with appraisal software (ACI, TOTAL, or commercial platforms) and market data sources (MLS, CoStar) • Autonomy: Excellent time management and organizational discipline • Logistics: Reliable transportation for inspections and a professional home office setup • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field preferred Bottom line: If you’re looking for a volume-at-all-costs shop, this isn’t it.
