The City of Virginia Beach is seeking a Capital Improvement Program Engineer to join their Engineering Support Division. This role involves reviewing various infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with City, State, and Federal standards, and overseeing QA/QC processes for Public Works projects. Responsibilities Review project plans and studies for various infrastructure related projects, including conceptual design, preliminary engineering reports, geo-technical reports, cost estimate, design calculations and computations, specifications and project manuals Oversee consultants performing QA/QC of Public Works CIP projects and coordinate limited QA/QC reviews with other Departments in the City projects affecting Public Works assets Prepare project cost estimates Perform and/or manage engineering studies Contact administration to assure City standards are met Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe Experience in reviewing engineering reports, plans, and specifications Knowledge of City, State, and Federal standards and specifications Ability to perform complex calculations and computations Experience with QA/QC processes in engineering projects Strong communication and coordination skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Benefits Health, dental and life insurance Retirement and savings plans Maternity/paternity and parental leave Holidays and leave Company Overview City of Virginia Beach is a one among the tourist attraction in United States due to coastal line bordering the city.
