California Healthcare Litigation Attorney (Remote)

Remote Full-time
Latitude Legal is seeking a California-licensed Healthcare Litigation Attorney to join an AmLaw 200 firm on a part-time engagement basis (approximately 20–30 hours/week), with the flexibility to scale up to full-time hours during year-end and other periods of heightened demand. This is a fully remote role tied to any of the firm’s California offices, and the firm is open to either a contract or contract-to-hire structure depending on the candidate’s goals and fit. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level litigator to step into a sophisticated, expanding healthcare team that represents hospitals, long-term care and senior living providers, and other healthcare organizations in high-stakes disputes. If you’re a mid-level litigator who enjoys complex, intellectually engaging work and wants to build a practice at the intersection of healthcare and litigation, this role offers a strong platform to grow, learn, and take on meaningful responsibility across all phases of litigation. What You’ll Do Includes • Manage and support a portfolio of healthcare-related litigation matters, including civil, regulatory, and administrative disputes for providers in the health and senior care space. • Handle core litigation tasks: law and motion practice, written discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation, with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility at hearings, mediations, and trials. • Assist in matters involving licensing, citations, reimbursement issues, and enforcement actions brought by state and federal agencies, as well as complex business and contract disputes impacting providers. • Work closely with senior litigators and colleagues in related practice areas (regulatory, transactional, real estate, employment, etc.) to develop coordinated strategies for health and senior care clients. • Engage directly with clients, helping them understand risk, litigation posture, and practical options in light of their operational and business realities. Who You Are • 4+ years of litigation experience, including substantial work on motions, written discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation. • Prior experience representing healthcare or senior care providers (hospitals, skilled nursing, assisted living, senior living, etc.) or trial experience is a plus, but not strictly required for strong litigators with genuine interest in the space. • Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to manage cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Demonstrated interest in healthcare or senior care and enthusiasm for building subject-matter expertise in a niche, high-impact field. • Comfortable working in a remote/WFH environment and availability during West Coast business hours. • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing. Position Details • Type of Role: Engagement or Engagement to Hire • Schedule: Part-Time / Full-Time • Location: Fully Remote (CA) Compensation • Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $200,000 to $210,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position). • Benefits: In addition to salary, Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan. Benefits-eligible Latitude employees receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D and professional liability insurance. Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
