CAD Drafter / 3D Modeler / Industrial Designer– Concrete Block Product Design (US Eastern Time Zone)
Job Description: We're a precast concrete manufacturer developing a modular block system for residential and small commercial construction. We need a drafter who understands how houses and small buildings actually go together – foundations, walls, headers, roof bearing, the works. This is a product development project, so we're still refining details as we go. You'll be working directly with the company owner. What We Need: 2D CAD drawings (fabrication details, assembly drawings, dimensions) 3D models of block units and assemblies Ability to iterate quickly as designs evolve Someone who can flag issues and think through problems, not just execute The Product: Concrete masonry units with integrated steel reinforcement. Dry-stack assembly (no mortar). Multiple block types including corners, headers, and foundation connections. We've done the engineering – now we need clean drawings and models. You Should Have: Strong understanding of residential and light commercial construction Experience with how wall systems, foundations, lintels, and roof connections work Proficiency in both 2D CAD drafting AND 3D modeling (SolidWorks, Revit, or similar) Ability to produce shop/fabrication drawings, not just architectural graphics Understanding of concrete, formwork, or precast is a plus Reinforcement detailing experience helpful Logistics: US Eastern or Central time zone required – we need real-time collaboration Native English speaker or fully fluent Ongoing engagement, approximately 10-20 hours/week Hourly rate, negotiable based on experience NDA required before detailed project briefing All work product and IP assigned to us To Apply, Please Answer: What's your experience with residential or small building construction?
