About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Service Specialist I to join our remote team, based in Texas, Florida, or Illinois. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for providing top-notch support to our customers, ensuring their needs are met, and fostering long-term relationships. This is a full-time position with a structured training program and opportunities for growth and development. Training and Shift Details Our comprehensive training program is scheduled to commence on April 8th and will run for six weeks, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm CST. Upon completion of training, you'll work a standard shift from 10:00am to 7:00pm CST, Monday to Friday, with potential variations and rotational on-call support required after hours. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Initiate monthly service calls to a designated number of low-volume accounts in your local geographic area, ensuring timely updates and issue resolution. Keep existing customers informed about new programs, promotional activities, products, and services, while addressing any current issues or concerns. Troubleshoot customer problems, such as missed shipments, price adjustments, and backorders, striving for prompt and effective solutions. Collaborate with field sales associates to coordinate special orders, accept quotations, and manage manufacturer calls. Work closely with warehouse associates, customers, and field sales associates to ensure seamless order processing. Process orders received via phone, fax, mail, email, and verbal communications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Provide customers with accurate and timely responses to their queries and concerns, escalating complex issues to the Customer Service Supervisor as needed. Perform data entry tasks, such as processing orders, accessing previous orders, and providing current prices, while researching other inquiries as required. Assist customers with backorders by offering suitable substitutions and alternatives, contacting manufacturers for delivery updates, and maintaining current open order reports. Communicate effectively with various departments within the Distribution Center and field sales associates, serving as a liaison between customers and sales teams. Continuously improve customer service operations by suggesting and recommending enhancements to your Supervisor. Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations, ensuring compliance and a safe working environment. Perform related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you'll need: A broad background in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, or computer sciences, typically acquired through a four-year Bachelor's Degree program or equivalent experience. Less than one year of directly related experience, although relevant training or vocational experience will be considered. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to resolve customer issues efficiently and creatively. Excellent interpersonal skills, with effective communication and decision-making abilities. Good analytical skills, with attention to detail and organizational capabilities. Familiarity with ABC products, services, and pharmaceutical distribution operations is desirable, although not essential. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and inventory management systems.
