Audit Verification Specialist: Remote in Maryland
About the Role The Audit Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying borrower information, reviewing loan files, ensuring compliance, and identifying discrepancies or risk factors that may impact the mortgage approval process. This role supports quality control efforts, maintains compliance standards, and helps drive improvements in loan processing efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Process audit re-verifications by preparing and sending verification letters to employers and/or financial institutions, or by uploading verification requests through vendor portals. • Track and monitor re-verification activities in the QC audit database. • Review, verify, and validate information received from verification letters or vendor systems. • Order field reviews, credit reports, and tax transcripts through vendor platforms and maintain accurate tracking of all responses. • Execute Title Company Vendor Management processes to ensure compliance and quality of partner relationships. • Conduct ATR/QM audit reviews to ensure loan files meet regulatory and internal standards. • Perform clerical duties and additional responsibilities as assigned to support department operations.
