Associate Engineer, QA/QC (Hybrid)
About the position This hybrid role focuses on identifying and implementing configuration management controls across the Eversource Electric Business, particularly in the areas of field, data, and engineering assets. The position involves assessing and auditing engineering processes, project lifecycles, and maintenance programs to ensure data accuracy and alignment with the leadership team's strategic vision. The role also emphasizes driving quality in construction, maintenance, engineering, and drawing activities. Responsibilities • Perform assessments of engineering, operations, and project data to ensure accuracy and quality. • Implement analysis and tracking to identify trends and issues; develop recommendations based on assessments. • Plan and conduct asset field verifications and data accuracy programs. • Track mitigation or corrective plans and actions. • Implement the Company's electric quality assurance and control programs. • Design and direct the development of performance tracking systems and performance reporting for the Electric Organization. • Ensure configuration control of company record systems essential to operations by ensuring compliance with company processes and procedures. • Implement an annual risk-based assurance program aimed at ensuring compliance and risk mitigation efforts are adequate in the electric business. • Identify best practices and opportunities for future improvement. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; an electrical engineering degree is strongly preferred. • A minimum of zero to three years of related experience is required, with a preference for experience in the electric utility industry. • Strong technical knowledge of transmission power system planning, engineering, maintenance, and operations. • Ability to understand and utilize engineering and industry data to diagnose business strengths and weaknesses. • Working knowledge of information technology and Eversource's office automation and information systems. • Strong communication skills, including the ability to make formal presentations and translate technical information for various audiences. • Ability to develop collaborative relationships to facilitate work goals. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of data management best practices is preferred. • Ability to use software applications such as Excel, Access, or Power BI is preferred. • Experience with programming/scripting languages such as SQL, R, or Python is desired.
