Key Responsibilities Develop and lead engaging water-based exercise classes that cater to diverse fitness levels and goals Create a safe and supportive environment for participants, providing modifications and alternatives as needed Educate class participants on correct form and technique, and provide feedback and encouragement Build positive relationships with class participants, responding to their needs and concerns, and promoting Life Time Fitness programs and services Maintain a clean and organized studio space, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for participants Stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends and research, and incorporate this knowledge into your classes Collaborate with other instructors and team members to develop and implement new programs and services Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 1 or more years of experience as a fitness instructor, preferably in a group fitness setting CPR/AED Certification Minimum of one of the following Group Exercise Certifications: National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class, which may include standing, walking, climbing, balancing, running, crawling, and kneeling Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds Ability to perform exercises specific to the assigned class Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching water-based exercise classes Knowledge of aquatic exercise principles and safety guidelines Experience working with diverse populations, including seniors, youth, and individuals with disabilities Certification in a related field, such as exercise science or sports medicine Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong leadership and motivational skills Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Life Time Fitness, we're committed to the growth and development of our team members.
