Key Responsibilities Assist AMTs in technical and non-technical functions related to aircraft interiors and other areas as needed Perform work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others Conduct inspections to locate damage, defects, or wear that may affect safety, reliability, or customer experience, reporting issues as appropriate Test machinery, mechanical equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications Repair worn, defective, or damaged parts or components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment Read and interpret technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs, or other work activities Interpret and use specifications, drawings, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, or flow charts to determine operational methods or sequences and complete work activities Research manuals, flight logs, or other technical resources to gather information needed to complete work activities Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures Essential Qualifications Currently enrolled in a 147 Accredited school partnered with Delta Air Lines In last semester of completion for FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate program Successfully completed the General Knowledge exam and either the Airframe or Powerplant Knowledge exam High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency At least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States Valid driver's license Ability to read and write English and comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous: Prior experience in aircraft maintenance or a related field Familiarity with aircraft systems and components Experience working with technical manuals and guidelines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Delta Air Lines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
