Job Details Job Location Remote, FL Remote Type Fully Remote Description Position Title: Admissions Coordinator/Call Center Supervisor: Director of Admissions FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The admissions Coordinator is responsible for assessing clients for potential admissions and facilitates discussions regarding financial obligations and criteria for admission with appropriate parties. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1 experience in coordinating patient admissions in a substance abuse or mental health treatment setting preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: CPR certification required KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE: • Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of level of care, in a treatment setting. • Demonstrates understanding of criteria for admissions based on level of care. • Demonstrates knowledge of insurance criteria for admission into all levels of care. • Demonstrates proficiency in communication & written skills. • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality and Patient Brokering laws. • Knowledge of networking skills within the community. X MENTAL DEMANDS Psychological High Medium Low Mental Stress X Work with Others X JOB CATEGORY STANDARD PRECAUTIONS: • Training provided to employee: • Universal Precautions Training • Crisis De-escalation Training POTENTIAL WORKPLACE HAZARDS: • Low-Trainings provided to minimize risk to employee: • OSHA-Fire Safety • OSHA-Electrical Safety • Review of Company's Safety Policy & Procedures POTENTIAL WORKPLACE VIOLENCE: • Low -Trainings provided to minimize risk to employee: • Crisis De-escalation Trainings • Review of Company's Safety Policy & Procedures SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION • Conducts PR-Admission Assessments and facilitates insurance verifications. • Consults with Admissions Manager and/or Admissions Director for direction and input with any pre-admission concerns and/or issues. • Communicates financial obligations for treatment and assesses financial capability of interested parties. • Works to find financial solutions to facilitate admissions for interested parties. • Meets with patient on admission to conduct face to face screening, when necessary, and reports to clinical team, ensuring that patient is appropriate for admission. • Conducts initial assessment of patient problems and needs. Reports to clinical team in order to initiate treatment planning. • Alerts clinical and other staff to any special problems or issues that may affect treatment. • Takes phone calls of inquiry and effectively answers questions about the treatment program. • Upon initial contact, provides information to patients and families in order to help them decide about treatment, prepare for admission, and know what they can expect to encounter. • Completes admission process efficiently and accurately. • Corresponds with marketers and referring organizations in regards to potential admissions. • Works collaboratively with management team. • Represents the program to referral sources, potential patients, and other outside individuals and agencies in a courteous, professional manner that reflects positively on the program and its staff. • Answers telephones courteously and directs calls as requested. • Arranges patient transportation, as needed, in a timely manner. • Uses computer to type correspondence, reports and other items as requested, ensuring that typing is accurate. • Accepts and utilizes supervision. • Addresses problems noted by supervisor. • Arranges tours for potential patients and their families. • Alerts staff of impending admissions. • Demonstrates good strategic and problem-solving skills. • Ensures that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and accurate. • Keeps records secure at all times. • Communicates with supervisor and keeps supervisor informed of significant developments. • Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility. • Participates in quality improvement activities and contribute to the welfare of the organization. • Functions well as a team member and contributes positively to the morale of the department. • Other duties as assigned Qualifications Position Title: Admissions Coordinator/Call Center Supervisor: Director of Admissions FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The admissions Coordinator is responsible for assessing clients for potential admissions and facilitates discussions regarding financial obligations and criteria for admission with appropriate parties.
