We value individuals who take initiative, deliver high-quality work, and contribute meaningfully to a collaborative team environment. ________________________________________ Position Summary We are seeking an exceptionally gifted Legal Research & Writing Specialist to support our litigation and corporate teams. This role is designed for someone who loves legal research, excels in analytical reasoning, and produces elite-level written work product. You do not need to manage cases; your primary mandate is deep research, persuasive writing, and thoughtful legal analysis. You will provide support on U.S. federal and state law matters, using tools such as Lexis, Westlaw, and AI-augmented drafting systems. The ideal candidate is detail-obsessed, intellectually curious, fast, highly accurate, and comfortable working independently in a high-performance environment. Hours begin at ~15 per week and are likely to increase to 30+ hours per week with excellent performance. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities 1. Advanced Legal Research • Conduct sophisticated case law, statute, and regulatory research across U.S. jurisdictions. • Prepare structured, attorney-ready research memoranda with clear issue framing and analysis. • Identify controlling vs. persuasive authority, circuit splits, minority rules, and doctrinal trends. • Analyze civil procedure, evidentiary standards, remedies, defenses, and multi-issue litigation contexts. 2. High-Level Legal Writing • Draft sections of briefs, including: o Motions to dismiss o Motions for summary judgment o Reply briefs o Evidentiary motions o Injunctive relief applications • Draft legal arguments for demand letters and pre-litigation positioning. • Draft analytical content for transactional/corporate research issues as required. • Produce writing that is clear, structured, persuasive, and aligned with attorney strategy. 3. AI-Augmented Drafting & Research • Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Lexis AI, Westlaw Precision tools) to accelerate drafting while applying expert human judgment. • Improve and refine AI outputs into polished legal analysis and arguments. • Assist in building AI prompt frameworks and internal drafting workflows. • Help develop the firm’s AI-supported research and writing knowledge base. 4. Citation, Verification & Quality Control • Shepardize/KeyCite all authorities to ensure accuracy and relevance. • Ensure proper signal hierarchy, parentheticals, and citation precision. • Validate factual assertions by cross-checking the record and exhibits. • Format documents using best practices consistent with firm standards, including TOC/TOA preparation. 5.
